Prohibition to fly drones over Helsingborg

The Police have applied for temporary restrictions in the airspace above parts of Helsingborg from Monday 18 May at 10:00 hrs. to Friday 22 May at 22:00 hrs.

With the exception of the Police, it is prohibited to fly for example drones without a permit in the area in question in connection with the NATO meeting in Helsingborg. The purpose is to improve security for the public and the ongoing operation.

The decision on the restricted area is taken by the Transport Agency, and the Police Authority will fly drones and helicopters in the restricted area, as shown in the map above.

There are no physical barriers against flying into a restricted area. However, the Police have a clear legal basis for intervening against unauthorised flying in the restricted area.

The Police encourage everyone who plans to fly drones or other aircraft in Helsingborg to check current information and to adhere to the temporary restrictions.

Ängelholm-Helsingborg Airport will be one of the airports to which delegations from other countries will arrive. Due to the NATO meeting, the flight restrictions around the airport are extended to apply 24 hours a day from Monday 18 May at 10:00 hrs. to Friday 22 May at 22:00 hrs.

Information about the restricted area is published in advance via so-called NOTAMs (Notice to Airmen). In this manner, pilots and drone operators can take part of the current restrictions.

For additional information and the restricted areas, see the LFV Drone chart at https://dronechart.lfv.se
