There are lots of events going on in Stockholm on Saturday 25 August. Avoid if possible using the car, be out sufficiently in advance of any events you plan to participate in, and keep yourself informed of what is going on in the city.

– This will be a challenge for the residents of Stockholm and for those who want to visit Stockholm. A very large number of events of different types taking place. The Police will do their very best to maintain order, safety and security, says Ulf Johansson, Head of Police Region.

Among the events are Tough Viking at Djurgården and Stockholm Triathlon on Sunday with preparations in central Stockholm on Saturday. There will be concerts at the Skansen zoo, at the sports field Zinkendamms IP and at the town square Mosebacke Torg. A major Korean cultural festival will take place in the park Kungsträdgården, and the organisation Strike Back have permission for a meeting at the square Norra Bantorget between 12:00 and 23:00 hours (from noon to 11 pm). A march for animal rights will also take place between the park Vasaparken and the park Humlegården and the permission applies between 12:00 and 16:00 hours (from noon to 4 pm).
Moreover, both the organisation Nordic Resistance Movement, NMR (Nordiska Motståndsrörelsen) and Revolutionary Communist Youth, RKU (Revolutionär Kommunistisk Ungdom) have requested permissions to carry out demonstrations in Stockholm.

NMR was granted permission and will have a meeting at the square Kungsholmstorg, the starting point, and will then follow a predetermined route through the city district Kungsholmen. They have permission for this between 10:00 and 18:00 (from 10 am to 6 pm). RKU will march from the square Norra Bantorget and they have permission for this between 14:00 and 15:00 hours (from 2 pm to 3 pm). The authorised routes are outlined in the maps in this article.

In this overview we have been able to include only a selection of the large number of events taking place this weekend. During the weekend in question, there will be about 140 public gatherings and events taking place in the County of Stockholm.
