Apply for a permit to install alarm systems
Companies that intend to sell, install and repair alarm systems require a permit from the police.
When we consider your application, we check that you have the required knowledge and that you are in other respects suitable to work with alarm systems. Your company must also have an organization appropriate for this business.
Security companies who have been authorized by the County Administration do not need to apply for a permit to install alarm systems.
Apply well in advance
Remember to apply well in advance and fill out all the information requested. If your application has been completed correctly and you have sent in all the required documents, you’ll get your decision faster.
How to apply
1. Complete the form
If you are using a digital form, you must first save the form on your computer. Then fill out the form and save it again.
Remember to submit the following documents with your application:
- Registration certificate for a limited liability company, partnership or sole proprietorship (Swedish Companies Registration Office).
- For sole proprietorships, you are also required to attach a bankruptcy discharge certificate (Swedish Companies Registration Office).
- Population registration certificate for the manager, not older than three months (Swedish Tax Agency).
2. Submit the form
Send the form by e-mail or regular mail to the police in the region in which the permit will apply. You can also submit the form and pay the fee in person at a police station.
3. Pay the fee
You are required to pay a fee in order to have your application processed. You will receive an in payment form from the Swedish Police when we have received and registered your application. Remember that your application will not be processed until the fee has been paid.
The fee for applying for a permit to install alarm systems is SEK 2,900.
Your fee will not be refunded even if your application is denied.
4. Receive a decision
We will send you a certificate by e-mail or regular mail.
